A popular New York City ice cream spot is expanding with a new location on Bleecker Street. Emack & Bolio’s , a dessert spot known for its innovative flavors and Rock ‘N Roll-inspired interiors, is opening a new location soon.

Per a post on Emack & Bolio’s Instagram page, signage has gone up at 272 Bleecker Street for their latest location. Flyers indicate that the team at Emack & Bolio’s has begun hiring a team to serve their 75 flavors of ice cream, sorbets, yogurt and vegan ice creams. Based on the image, construction seems to be underway.

A representative for Emack & Bolio’s did not immediately respond to What Now NY ’s request for a comment.

Emack & Bolio’s started in Boston in 1975. Founder Bob Rook aimed to make a space for musicians to kick back and have a place to hang out after a show after clubs were forced to close at midnight.

The lawyers who started the brand had deepened their love of all things rock n’ roll by representing major record labels and artists– but in their spare time they worked pro bono on cases protecting homeless people, anti-war demonstrators, and civil right advocates. In fact, the name Emack & Bolio’s celebrates two of the clients the founders represented.

Based on the locations page of Emack & Bolio’s website, there are 38 currently open locations worldwide. From shopping malls in China to the Hard Rock Hotel in Florida, Emack & Bolios’ has spread exponentially over it’s almost 50 years in business. This new location in the West Village looks to be the brand’s eighth location in New York state, and seventh in NYC.

There is no word on exactly when Emack & Bolio’s in the West Village will open, but check Emack & Bolio’s Instagram page for the latest updates.
