NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A woman was stabbed multiple times in an unprovoked attack at a subway station in Queens on Sunday night, just a couple hours before two women were stabbed in a knife fight on the Bowery in Manhattan, police said.

The 23-year-old victim was on the mezzanine level of the Jamaica-Van Wyck E-line station in Richmond Hill at 8:30 p.m. when a man came up and stabbed her in the chest and stomach, according to police.

She was taken by EMS to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition.

The attack appears to be completely unprovoked, police said. A 24-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene with charges pending.

Less than three hours later on the Lower East Side, a fight broke out in the area of 261 Bowery, just south of East Houston Street.

The fight inside a bar spilled out onto the street, where a 33-year-old woman was stabbed in the neck and a 29-year-old woman was stabbed in the back, police said.

Both victims were transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

A person of interest was taken into custody at the scene for questioning. No charges were immediately filed.
