Fans are ecstatic over the news about Whoopi Goldberg 's next big career move, with the 68-year-old taking on the popular role of Miss Hannigan in the musical Annie in New York City.

Broadway World helped get the news out, sharing a photo of Goldberg, who is currently a co-host on The View , on Instagram and writing, "@whoopigoldberg will take the stage as 'Miss Hannigan' when ANNIE returns to NYC this winter!"

In the accompanying article , the publication shared that the musical will be performed at The Theater at Madison Square Garden for a limited, five-week run, between Dec. 4, 2024, to Jan. 5, 2025. In regards to Goldberg's role specifically, she will play Miss Hannigan between Dec. 11 and Jan. 5.
