The New York (AP) mark was more alert than hurt on the day of this event, which was quite unusual, and produced the effects in the North East from the big street of the city of New York to the quiet edge of the New England. At 10:At 23:00 on Friday, a 4.8 magnitude aftershock, which was centered around the town of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, left millions of people feeling an unpleasant sense of shock. However all this just goes to show that regions can be resilient and scars do not remain even if they are deep.

The epicenter the quake was located at the midpoint of the freedom corridor, which is a region that extends from Washington to influence every American. Thus, over 42 million people felt the impact of the quake as reported by the USGS. The seismic waves traveled even as far as Boston and Baltimore, making the people in these cities nervous as these disturbances were not their common occurrence. The Newark (New Jersey) precautionary steps allowed for the evacuation of multifamily homes, which would result in more than twenty nine people finding themselves homeless in buildings being scanned for potential damage.

The earthquake brought together the governments, private entities, wills of volunteers, and concerned groups into an effort to mitigate for the damage suffered. Air travel faced with the experience of seeing routes being temporarily diverted and flights delayed as a measure to keep people and cargo safe, while passengers on Amtrak trains passing through the route ended up hitting brakes as a precaution. Specified buildings including suspension bridges and federally positioned historic sites received reviews, for finding the damages not to be significant like a historical mill in Readington Township having their collapsed portion.

Although nobody expected it, the community's reaction emphasized attention to detail and flexibility to cope with the unforeseen. The owners said that their pets were geared up, but also that some of them kept their belongings secure, there were no victims with severe injuries. The USGS noted that such an event would have lasted longer on the East Coast’s seismically less active seismic zone while energizing the same areas up to 100 km away, hence even ordinary earthquakes like Friday’s one can be felt.

Coming after the earthquake were more but less than a dozen aftershocks, including one which measured 4.0 magnitude. On top of this, the area remained under alert status. Nonetheless, comparing to the much more destructive earthquakes, like the Mw 7.4 that occurred in Taiwan last week, change the perspective, pushing the East Coast tremble to a minor one.

It is apparent that the East Coast, being taken aback by this turn of events, have proved that they are capable of mobilization and teamwork. The way officials took quick and decisive measures to this public safety and the protection of key infrastructure showcases the readiness and the unity. Communities that came for the rescue and stood firm despite the uncertain times was renowned for its quick response and the lack cynicsim amongst people.

The assessments will continue and the region will return to its "routine", the earthquake will be such a reminder of the "neaceful power" of nature. However, that alone reminds the world about the power of the people and hears their readiness for the calls. It should make the whole country at least step back and be thankful about its people.

    Conclusion:
Although the first immediate impact of an earthquake in particular region where such events are rare was a sudden shock, the East Coast was still able to demonstrate unrivaled resilience. According to the reports from local authorities there is no massive mayhem or injuries because the emergency response services are fast to react and the communities are ready. The earthquake, striking close to White House Station, New Jersey, during the morning on Friday, brought their panic but, in so doing, also displayed the resolute nature of the people who were involved.
