The longtime Hamptons home of a late billionaire real estate developer now comes $25M cheaper

This billionaire-built Hamptons hideaway now comes with a $25 million discount. But the ritzy 14-acre Wainscott waterfront estate still costs a fortune.

Now asking $45 million following a broker swap, this was the longtime Hamptons home of the late real estate developer Sheldon Solow, who had a net worth of $4 billion. He purchased this 30 Mathews Road property for $19.5 million in 2006, which includes a 10,000-square-foot cedar-shingled home.

Solow passed away in 2020 at the age of 92 — and he was best known for the Solow Building at 9 W. 57th St., a 50-story office tower with the famed restaurant Cucina 8 ½ on the ground floor. Less than a year following his death, the property listed for a cool $70 million, The Post reported at the time.

“The price is now more aligned with the market,” said Compass broker James Petrie, who’s repping the property with fellow Compass broker Charles Forsman.

Known as Goose Creek, the offering — including the seven-bedroom, 9½-bath home — sits on 13.89 acres and has 827 feet on the water.

And it’s the prime location on Georgica Pond , a 190-acre coastal lagoon currently occupied by the cultural and financial elite, that makes it special. Past and present residents of the exclusive enclave include Steven Spielberg, Ronald Perelman and Martha Stewart.

“It’s an immensely private, quiet and calm part of Georgica Pond overlooking all of the pond and the ocean,” Petrie added.

There’s also a chance that potential new owners could subdivide and build another home, a pool, a pool house and a tennis court, the listing notes.

A winding driveway leads to the home, which sits on rolling lawns featuring mature trees. It was constructed by the late local “builder to the stars” Ben Krupinski, working with architect Paul Rice.

The dwelling opens to a double-height entry foyer that leads to a formal dining space with a fireplace. The main floor also boasts an open eat-in chef’s kitchen and a family room with French doors that head to a screened porch and a covered veranda. Outdoor perks additionally include a pool house and a pool that overlooks the pond.

There’s also a library with a fireplace, a cozy living area and a sunroom with a wet bar. The second floor features five bedrooms including the main suite — with a walk in closet, a sitting area with a fireplace and a private balcony.
