A co-op on the 10th floor of legendary One Fifth Avenue has just hit the market for $4.45 million .

If you snag the three-bedroom, three-bath combined corner unit, you just never know who you might meet in the elevator.

Past and present residents include Jessica Lange, Patti Smith (Robert Mapplethorpe shot her “Horses” album cover in art curator Sam Wagstaff’s penthouse in the building), actress (and mother of Gwyneth Paltrow) Blythe Danner, and the late Sam Shepard.

Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter also once lived in this landmarked Art Deco building, steps from Washington Square Park, as did director and screenwriter Brian De Palma and literary critic Michiko Kakutani. “Sex and the City” writer Candace Bushnell even named one of her novels for the building.

The co-op opens to an entrance gallery leading to a great room adorned with a Juliet balcony and four oversize casement windows. There’s a separate windowed dining area (with room for a table that seats 12) as well as an open chef’s kitchen with soapstone counters.

Two main bedrooms with en-suite baths flank opposite sides of the apartment, while a third bedroom currently functions as a large home office. Details include mahogany floors and beamed ceilings.

Built in 1927 by architect Harvey Wiley Corbett, the building features a double-height lobby, a library, a live-in super and full-time porters.

The listing brokers are Erin Boisson Aries and Dustin Crouse of Douglas Elliman.
