Fiancé of Madison Bergmann, teacher arrested for ‘making out’ with 11-year-old still talks to her: ‘He was madly in love’

Madison Bergmann’s ex-fiancé still speaks to the Wisconsin fifth-grade teacher — even after she was busted for allegedly “making out” with an 11-year-old in her classroom, according to friends.
“They still talk, as far as I know,” says a pal, who was invited to the couple’s now-canceled July 27 wedding.
“But obviously, everything has changed. He was betrayed in a really big way, but he was madly in love, and you can’t just turn that off.”
Now, Bergmann is hiding on her grandparents’ farm and avoiding most of her former friends — including the bridal party from her aborted ceremony.
“She seems embarrassed to face us,” the friend tells The Post. “She’s ghosted everyone, which is kind of to be expected.”
Bergmann, 24, has been charged with first-degree child sexual assault of a child under age 13.
According to charging documents obtained by The Post, Bergmann was a teacher at River Crest Elementary School when she allegedly started the tawdry affair with an 11-year-old student.
She allegedly kissed him several times in her classroom, either after school or while the other students were at lunch. Police also say that she moved his desk closer to hers so she could rub his legs during class .
Her alleged lewd behavior was discovered when the boy’s parents found salacious texts on his phone. His enraged father printed out the messages and stormed the front office, prompting an investigation, according to court records.
In another one of the letters, Bergmann allegedly wrote, “One of my cousins is in the 5th grade and I can’t imagine a man talking to her how we talk. I know we have a special relationship and I do love you more than anyone in the world but I have to be the adult here and stop.”
When confronted with the letters, authorities say Bergmann invoked her right to an attorney.
Bergmann is free on a $25,000 bond. Her attorney did not return The Post’s message for comment. She is due in court next month.
While the case progresses, those who know Bergmann are still grappling with the fallout of her alleged behavior.
“At first everyone was just shocked,” says friend, who was invited to the wedding — which has since been called off.
“But now, there are a lot of hurt feelings. Betrayal. And sympathy for the kid and his family. There’s been a lot of destruction in her path.”
