A 5-year-old boy was killed and another child was injured when a bounce house they were in went “airborne” and crashed down on the field at a minor league baseball game in Maryland, officials said.

Strong wind gusts lifted the moon bounce 15 to 20 feet in the air around 9:20 p.m. on Friday night, sending children playing inside it flying before the inflatable structure area landed on the playing field at Regency Furniture Stadium, where the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs were in the middle of a game, Charles County officials said .

A 5-year-old boy from La Plata suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted by Maryland State Police to Children’s Hospital, where he later died.
