Jake Paul eyes 2028 Olympics after being ‘sick as f–k’ watching USA boxing’s struggles

Jake Paul has the solution for Team USA’s struggles in Olympic boxing: Jake Paul.

The YouTube star-turned-boxer wants to wear the Stars and Stripes at the Los Angeles Games after watching the United States take just one medal so far in Paris.

Omari Jones took bronze in the men’s welterweight, but the U.S. otherwise failed to medal in men’s boxing — particularly notable since there are no bronze medal fights, so medaling only requires making the semifinal.

Jahmal Harvey came close to doing so in the featherweight division, but lost to Kyrgyzstan’s Munarbek Seitbek-Uulu in the quarterfinals.

Paul thinks he could do better.

“I’m going to enter the 2028 Olympics for boxing in Los Angeles,” Paul, who will be 31 in 2028, told Betr. “I’m sick and tired of waiting around and waiting for a gold for Team USA.”

Paul has won 10 of 11 pro bouts as a cruiserweight, but none of his wins are particularly notable. Aside from winning a gold medal, he wants to win a world title.

There is a long way to go in that conquest for Paul, who is scheduled to fight Mike Tyson in November.

Paul won his last bout in July against former UFC fighter Mike Perry by technical knockout.

He was also discussing retiring to focus on other ventures recently, though he appears to have changed his mind.

Paul has been spotted throughout the boxing events at Roland Garros during the Olympics.

“Not retiring,” he said. “I definitely probably just added a couple more years onto my boxing career because of that.

“Los Angeles. United States. Sick as f–k. I’m just dropping bombs.

“You heard it here first. Gold medal, brother.”
