‘Suicide Squad’ and ‘The Beekeeper’ director asks $2.49M for charming LA home

Hollywood director, producer and screenwriter David Ayer has listed his charming Los Angeles home for $2.49 million.
And it comes with prime views.
Ayer is the director of 2016’s “Suicide Squad” and this year’s “The Beekeeper,” among other films. He’s also the screenwriter of 2001’s still-talked-about “The Fast and The Furious.” Earlier this month, Ayer took to social media to say that the “Ayer Cut” of “Suicide Squad” is vastly superior to the Hollywood version that was released to the public — even though it still made $747 million at the box office.

The director’s cut is “a linear story,” Ayer posted on X . “Character development throughout the first arc. Harley has a real story arc. As does Deadshot. It’s moody and bold and dramatic and heartfelt. Totally different experience. It plays like an entirely different film.”
Ayer bought this Echo Park residence, at 2005 Lemoyne St., in 2017 — a year after the success of “Suicide Squad” — for $1.64 million, according to property records.
The five-bedroom, three-bathroom home is 3,315 square feet and sits on 0.23 acres. Originally built in 1902, the property features multiple patios and balconies over three levels including a roof deck, which comes with a summer barbecue for dining al fresco.

Design details include window walls on the main level showcasing canyon views.
This floor also features an open living/dining area and a chef’s kitchen, plus a home office and a guest bedroom that opens to a side patio. Upstairs, a main bedroom suite comes with stone tiles, a sitting area, a large closet, and a spa-like bath with a steam shower and a soaking tub along with a large patio. The lower level boasts additional bedrooms plus a kitchenette, and room for an office or a studio.
The large outdoor space has a front courtyard with a pergola-covered dining area, a sauna, a “sport court,” lounge areas, a chicken coop, vegetable gardens and fruit trees.
