Despite all of the PDA inherent in the soap opera storyline, Mysterio says his wife, Marie Juliette, understands the difference between real-life and his TV character.

“Honestly, she’s the best. I do what I do on TV, and last week when Rhea licked my face the first text I got from her was ‘There’s a tarantula in our garage.’” Mysterio said on Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast this week.
He said that this text was “unrelated” to the soapy TV angle and that his wife said “nothing” about it.
“She understands the difference from like when I’m on TV I’m ’Dirty Dom’ and I come home to her and I’m her husband Dominik — There’s a huge difference as far as what I come home to. She does a good job of separating work and real-life stuff.”
The angle has become a key component of WWE’s TV presentation, and Mysterio’s double-cross of Ripley was used to facilitate Morgan retaining her Women’s World Championship at “SummerSlam” in Cleveland earlier this month.
One of the subplots of the stories is that it appears as though Mysterio and WWE’s writers want the audience to wonder if he is actually the son of Rey Mysterio, or if he might be the spawn of the late Eddie Guerrero — around which WWE did an on-screen angle in 2005.
With his goatee and long hair, Dominik presents himself to look a lot more like Guerrero than his father, and he displays a lot of the same skeevy romantic elements as Guerrero’s “Latino Heat” character from the early 2000s.

Guerrero and Mysterio Jr. were frenemies throughout their time in Mexico, ECW, WCW and WWE.
Dominik and his wife, Marie Juliette, reportedly met when they were 14 years old in high school Spanish class.
When they wed in March, Dominik was showered with boos in accordance with his WWE heel character.
