Staten Island Little League coach upset Aaron Judge didn’t spend time with players

The Staten Island Little League World Series manager noticed a glaring 6-foot-7 omission from the Yankees’ welcoming party Sunday.

South Shore Little League’s Bob Laterza ripped Aaron Judge for not only skipping a meet-and-greet with the players before Sunday’s Little League Classic in Williamsport, Pa., but he also alleged that Judge did not interact with the players while they called to him from their seats during the Yankees’ 3-2 extra-innings loss to the Tigers.

“How about turning around or wave to New York and the kids that think you’re a hero?” Laterza told silive.com . “They are the ones who pay your salary.”

He added: “They were disappointed. Maybe he’ll want to make up for it and come and see them.”

The Little League Classic is celebrated for how it brings together major leaguers and those hoping to be in those shoes someday.

Judge had the biggest star power among the Yankees and Tigers present — and perhaps all of baseball — and obviously all the little leaguers would have liked to mingle with him.

The AL MVP favorite did make the rounds at the complex before Sunday’s game and signed plenty of autographs for fans and players from all the teams, but Laterza is irked the only New York team in the LLWS did not get to spend one-on-one time with the local superstar.

Judge did pose for a group photo that included one Staten Island player before the game.

The Post could not reach Laterza for further comment.

Laterza told silive.com that his team had been promised a meet-and-greet with the Yankees at the International Grove where they are staying, but only DJ LeMahieu, Tim Hill and “a few others” attended that session, per the report.

Gerrit Cole, Nestor Cortes, Jasson Dominguez, Aaron Boone and Nick Swisher, however, spent time with the team at Bowman Field later in the afternoon.

He complimented that group, calling them “very kind and considerate.”

The Yankees posted a video showing Cole interacting with the team Sunday, signing autographs and giving them high-fives . Tommy Kahnle made a late appearance in the clip.

The Staten Island squad is in win-or-go-home mode in the tournament after losing its opener and faces the Bourne, Texas, team on Tuesday at 7 p.m .

If his team makes a run, Laterza appears ready to extend to Judge the same courtesy he feels the one-time MVP extended his team.

“We’re playing good ball. We’re gonna win another game or two and shake ‘em up a little bit,” the manager told silive.com. “After we win this thing, they ain’t taking pictures with us either. Only Aaron Boone and the guys who showed up!”
