Run for cover! Dramatic drone video captured the dangerously close encounter for sightseers peering over the rim of Dukono, an active volcano on Indonesia’s Halmahera Island. On Aug. 17, the massive crater suddenly shot a huge ash cloud, billowing an estimated 8,000 feet into the air. Footage shows climbers rushing down the mountain to escape death. While no injuries were reported, the decision to scale the volcano, which has been active since 1993, was slammed by locals.
