Somebody check on Alicia Silverstone.
The “Clueless” star, 47, recorded herself eating a piece of fruit that has since been identified as poisonous, leading fans to express their concerns for the actress’s well-being.
In her TikTok video shared Monday, Silverstone explained that she’s “discovered something that I can’t figure out what it is and I need your help.”
“I just bit into it because it was on the street and we were discussing whether this was a tomato or not,” she continued, as she showed the piece of fruit to the camera.
Silverstone, who is vegan , said the fruit is “definitely not” a tomato because of the leaves on the plant.
“So, what the heck is this? Because, when you open it up it looks like that,” she said, showing a squashed fruit on the ground, before she bit into the piece in her hand.
“And if I bite it — I don’t think you’re supposed to eat this, but it’s almost like a pepper?” Silverstone said. “Does anyone know what this is? I need someone to tell me. I’m in England. Thank you.”
Fans quickly identified that the fruit Silverstone ate is a Jerusalem cherry.
According to Medline Plus , the Jerusalem cherry is poisonous and primarily affects the gastrointestinal and central nervous system. Poisoned symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, hallucinations, headache and paralysis.
Silverstone, who has over 4 million followers on TikTok, has yet to post on social media since eating the fruit.
