A stranger pummeled an elderly man after refusing to allow the senior inside the elevator at a busy Lower Manhattan subway station during the evening commute, police said.

The 71-year-old victim was trying to take the elevator from the southbound B, D, F and M platform at the Broadway-Lafayette subway station around 7:45 p.m. Aug. 10 when the brute stopped him from stepping inside, cops and sources said.

The attacker then shoved him and punched him multiple times in the face – with the flurry of blows causing him to fall and hit his head on the platform, cops said.
