Ava Hunt is kicking off her freshman year at Southern Methodist University in style.
The 18-year-old daughter of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt settled into her dorm room at the Texas institution this past week, with mom Tavia Hunt posting new photos of the accommodations boasting plentiful pink accessories, including a neon sign above the bed and a dreamy vanity.
“Today, I left a piece of my heart at SMU. Ava Hunt, you’ve always been a mix of sunshine and hurricane – fierce, fearless, and capable of incredible things. I’m overflowing with excitement for you, even as I tuck away my tears for later. I’m wading through emotions as I pass by your now too-clean room, the house is too quiet without your laughter, and Chief and I are already missing the familiar scent of your Sol de Janeiro body spray,” Tavia shared in a heartfelt Instagram post on Aug. 23.
“I know you’ll return often, and that this marks a new adventure and freedom for both of us …yet, I whisper earnest prayers for your safety, wisdom, and for a tribe of new sisters who love Jesus and love you. May God bless you and watch over you – He has never failed me, nor will He fail you. I’m excited for the lessons you will learn about God’s faithfulness in the coming months. Watching you shine your light and grow into the most beautiful version of yourself makes my heart beat a little happier. You’ve worked so hard to get here. Everything that you do from here on out is for you—for your success, happiness, and God’s glory. Acts20:24 Stay safe. Get sleep. Have faith in yourself. And remember, Mom and Dad are ALWAYS here when you need us. I love you MORE.”
It was an epic senior year for Ava, who mingled with Taylor Swift at Arrowhead Stadium in December when the pop superstar cheered on her boyfriend, star Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce.
Ava and the Hunt family later opened 2024 with a second straight Super Bowl win after the Chiefs defeated the 49ers in overtime in Las Vegas, 25-22.
The Chiefs, who took down the Eagles in Super Bowl 2023, will kick off their quest for a Super Bowl three-peat on Thursday, Sept. 5, when they host the Ravens at Arrowhead.
Kansas City knocked off Baltimore in January’s AFC Championship Game en route to February’s Super Bowl.
