    Viral NYC clip shows Big Apple summer bustle in all its glory

    A New York City photographer’s clip of a Saturday evening stroll through Lower Manhattan has exploded across social media after the charming video captured the city’s unique, bustling summer rhythms.

    The three-minute recording — posted to X last night by photographer NewYorkCityKopp — takes viewers through Canal Street and the surrounding neighborhood between Chinatown and the Lower East Side as it captures the Big Apple in all its late-August glory.

    Visitors, tourists and native New Yorkers are seen crowded around tables as they dine in restaurants’ outdoor seating sections, while the streets rumble and moan with thee typical roar of voices, car engines, horns and police sirens.

    The video shows couples walking hand-in-hand, curious dogs being led about by the owners, bicyclists casually rolling along the pavement.

    Many of those who watched the recording were drawn into the summer scene.

    “There are no minor characters. Every table and passing couple is a drama,” one user wrote.

    “If you were a pumpkin spice latte you would be a dead man,” another quipped.

    Others took a more broad view, and reflected on how the video provided a snapshot of the specific time and place at which it was recorded.

    “Imagine a lower east sider from 1924 saw this video, they would have a major moment!” one person wrote.

    “Love the NYC street scene lengthy take,” said another. “Takes me there. It’s a little slice of life. Please make more [videos].”

    The videographer often posts such slice-of-life clips on his X page, and recorded videos recently of a trip to Coney Island , a walk through Harlem to the legendary Apollo Theater and a quartet playing on a street corner in SoHo .
