Angel Reese responds after Dave Portnoy leads chorus of trolls during 22-rebound game

Sky rookie Angel Reese is staying the course after Chicago’s 77-75 loss to the Aces on Sunday.
After Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy trolled her throughout the game in various posts on X, Reese tweeted, “if it was easy, everybody would be doing it. we good!” with the hashtag, “Sky Town.”
Portnoy has made it clear he’s a fan of Reese’s college rival Caitlin Clark and the Fever — he live-tweeted during the Fever’s loss to the Lynx Saturday and said he hasn’t forgotten that Clark was left off the Team USA roster at the 2024 Paris Olympics — and he posted two videos Sunday that criticized Reese’s play.
He first reposted a clip of Reese, who finished with a season-high 22 rebounds, bricking a wide open 3-pointer in the first quarter.
His other dig centered on a clip that showed Reese missing multiple layups and battling for her rebounds as she was surrounded by four Aces defenders while Las Vegas led Chicago, 73-62.
“Great kick out for the wide open 3!” Portnoy wrote in reference to Reese hoisting shots rather than passing to her teammates with multiple defenders around her.
The argument against Reese’s eye-popping rebounding numbers is that some come after her own misses.
Reese finished with 11 points, 22 rebounds and one assist in 37 minutes in the Sky’s third straight loss.
Aces star A’ja Wilson scored in the paint as time expired to secure the win for the Aces, who are eyeing a three-peat as WNBA champions.
Despite Portnoy’s digs, Reese continued to make history Sunday, becoming the first player in WNBA history to record 20-plus rebounds in three straight games after Sunday’s matchup with the Aces.
Reese, the Sky’s No.7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, is averaging a double-double.
The Sky (11-18) will host the Mystics (7-22) on Wednesday, and are a half-game ahead of the Atlanta Dream for the final playoff spot.
