A surprising name could be entering the Cowboys’ backfield.

Former Jets running back Dalvin Cook is visiting Dallas on Monday, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.

“Unlike a year ago, when he was rehabbing from shoulder surgery, Cook has hit the weights all offseason and says he feels the best he has in years,” Pelissero added.

Cook looked about finished during his time with the Jets last season.

Cook, now 29, carried the ball 67 times for 214 yards — just 3.2 yards per carry — and no touchdowns last season in 15 games with the Jets.

Nonetheless, he does appear to be in phenomenal shape in a workout video posted by Pelissero, and he’s still on the right side of 30 years old.

The Jets’ offense was largely woeful as starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with a torn Achilles on the fourth play of the season as the Jets hosted the Bills before Zach Wilson took over under center.

The #Cowboys might not be done: Sources say 4x Pro Bowl RB Dalvin Cook is flying to Dallas tonight for a visit.

The Cowboys brought back Ezekiel Elliott this offseason, after the running back spent last year in New England.

Elliott had 3.5 yards per carry and three touchdowns last season.

Other running backs on the Cowboys’ depth chart include Rico Dowdle and Royce Freeman.
