Caitlin Clark cracked a joke at her own expense after seeing the replay of when she tweaked her ankle during the first half of the Fever’s 84-79 win over the Dream on Monday night.
The Fever rookie turned her ankle while playing defense in the first quarter — and fell to the floor and grabbed her ankle as she writhed in pain.
“I saw the replay, and I look really soft,” Clark said, which drew laughs from Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell and head coach Christie Sides. “It wasn’t that bad of a turn, but it hurt.
Clark remained on the bench for the remainder of the first quarter following her injury scare, and then returned to action to start the second quarter.
She finished with 19 points, seven assists and seven rebounds.
