A woman with 20 prior busts was nabbed for biting her pet pit bull in a vicious and bizarre Upper East Side attack – heartlessly telling cops, “That’s what I do, I bite my dog,” prosecutors and sources said.

Jilian Teixeria, 24, allegedly grabbed the brown female dog by the ears and chomped down on her head around 6:15 p.m. Saturday on East 86th Street near Lexington Avenue, according to a complaint filed in Manhattan Criminal Court.

The cruel attack caused the poor pup to yelp and screech loudly – and bleed from her head and ears, prosecutors said.

When cops arrived, Teixeria admitted to biting her dog, but offered a wild defense, Assistant District Attorney William Eddy said during Teixeria’s Monday arraignment.

“That’s what I do. I bite my dog,” Teixeria said, according to the ADA.

“What would you prefer me to do? Hit her? She’s bleeding because she has eczema.”

The injured dog was taken to an animal hospital, sources said.

Teixeria was arrested and charged with one count of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals – a misdemeanor – and Judge Michael Ryan ordered her held on $1 bail.

That came over prosecutors’ request that Teixeria be held on $5,000 cash, $15,000 insurance company bond and $15,000 partially secured surety bond, the DA’s Office said.

But the same judge ordered Teixeria held on that exact bail amount in connection to an April 8 assault in which she allegedly threw an ice cream container in a man’s face, prosecutors said.

Monday was her first criminal court appearance in connection to the April case.

She was previously granted supervised release for allegedly shoplifting and slugging a Harlem Food Dynasty worker in December of 2022, according to prosecutors.

Teixeria, who identifies as female and uses she/her pronouns, is a Bronx resident who is also listed in some records as Julian.

She has one prior animal abuse-related bust from March 18 of last year in the Bronx, law enforcement sources said.

Several of her prior arrests are for failure to appear in court in Queens, law enforcement sources said.

During her Manhattan appearance on Monday, prosecutors said she failed to appear 16 times on cases across the Big Apple.

Her other busts, dating back to 2018, have been for assault, menacing, robbery, petit larceny and criminal contempt, sources said.

She is next scheduled to appear in court in connection to the three Manhattan cases on Friday.
