Patrick Mahomes: Chiefs may have to use one of Taylor Swift’s drawn-up plays

Taylor Swift… offensive coordinator?

Patrick Mahomes seems to think there’s a chance.

At least, that’s what he said in a recent interview with former pro and current NFL on NBC analyst Chris Simms.

Swift, according to Mahomes, isn’t the average football fan and has really gotten inside the huddle — so to speak — as her relationship with the star quarterback’s fellow Chiefs star, Travis Kelce , has grown.

“I think it’s been cool to see the girls and the women that have really embraced watching football,” Mahomes on Swift. “I know, being a girl dad, how cool it is for me to see like these little girls — these daughters — and how much they’re loving to spend time with their dad, watching football.”

Mahomes added, “And then meeting Taylor, realizing how genuine and cool she is. I think that’s been special to me because she’s, like you said, the most famous person in the world, she could not be (genuine). And she’s really interested in football, and she asks a lot of great questions. Started drawing up plays. We might have to put one in.”

The Chiefs head coach has, as reported by the Kansas City Star , been known for allowing players to design their own plays and running with them in actual games if he liked the call enough.

He even previously pulled something from the 1948 Rose Bowl .

Reid, clearly being open to suggestions, even once used a play design by a janitor .

If Swift could draw up a big gain, or even a touchdown, it probably wouldn’t be all that surprising if Reid and the Chiefs use it.
