Ricky Pearsall is apparently recovering well.

The 49ers rookie wide receiver was already back in the weight room Monday, according to KNBR radio analyst Tim Ryan , after being shot in downtown San Francisco on Saturday during an alleged attempted robbery.

Pearsall also landed on the reserve/non-football injury list Monday, meaning he will miss the first four games of San Francisco’s season.

“I talked to him yesterday, he was actually in the weight room,” Ryan said. “Thank God it’s not worse than it was […] I already know this, his street cred has gone up tremendously around here.”

49ers confident Ricky Pearsall will play in 2024 after shooting: ‘Nothing short of miraculous’

Pearsall, the 49ers’ first-round pick in June’s draft (No. 31 overall), sustained several injuries after being shot in the chest by a 17-year-old who tried to steal Pearsall’s Rolex watch.

The rookie fought back, leading to multiple shots going off, one of which struck him and another hitting the 17-year-old.

Pearsall, 23, was released from the hospital Sunday, and his mother, Erin, shared on social media that Pearsall was “in good spirits.”

“First and far (sic) most I want to thank God for protecting my baby boy,” she wrote on Facebook on Sunday. “He is extremely lucky, God shielded him. He was shot in the chest and it exited out his back. Thanks be to God it missed his vital organs.”

Pearsall will be eligible to return for the team’s fifth game against the Cardinals on Oct. 6.

“He and his family, along with the entire San Francisco 49ers organization, would like to thank the San Francisco Police Department, emergency medical services, doctors and staff at San Francisco General Hospital,” the team said in a statement Sunday.
