When she eventually returned home, the police handed over her husband’s phone, and it was this that ended up turning her world upside down… again.
The devastating discovery
According to “The Sun”, Marianne was just going to take a “quick look” through his device but ended up stumbling across information that revealed he had been having an affair throughout their marriage.
“I’ve got a choice – I can sit in my house and rot or I can show my son what an amazing life there is to be had,” she said.
“I’m always going to be ‘that woman'”
The young mom is now solo parenting her 18-month-old and documents her life on her Instagram, @marianna.againagain .
In one particularly poignant post, she wrote:
“To some people, I’m always going to be “that woman”…
The woman who had the life shattering tragedy of losing her husband days after her first child was born.
The woman who married an unfaithful man who created scandal and then left, in the most final way.
The woman who found him.
The woman who couldn’t get any breath as she tried to speak to the emergency services.
The woman who – still to this day – sees it as if it was happening in real time.
The woman who was handed his mobile phone only to have to give it back to the police because of what was found on it.
The woman who begged for space to grieve and process and to have her boundaries respected only to have disgusting intrusion and formalities forced upon her.
The woman who had to fit a dash cam to her vehicle for safety because she was followed and filmed.
The woman who wasn’t told about the memorials.
The woman who had to sell both of the family vehicles because of what happened in them…
But I promise, I’m so much more than that.”
