The Mets called DJ Stewart up from Triple-A Syracuse Sunday to take the spot of Jeff McNeil, who was placed on the 10-day IL with a fractured wrist he suffered Friday.

The outside factors likely keeping Francisco Lindor from unbiased MVP chance

The move, as expected, gives the Mets another left-handed bat.

McNeil is expected to miss the rest of the regular season, although the Mets hope he may be able to return if they make a run in the postseason.

Jose Iglesias is starting at second base against the Reds on Sunday for the second consecutive day.
