Dr. Shereene Idriss , a board-certified dermatologist, has taken to TikTok to share her tips for keeping hands looking youthful.

Idriss explains that the hands are “one of the biggest telltale signs of your age.”

She promises there are three ways to hack that number, and No. 1 is sunscreen: “This is the literal fountain of youth for your hands.”

Idriss considers sunscreen a preventative measure against relentless sun exposure.

“From the car to golfing to sitting by the window talking on the phone, your hands are chronically exposed,” she said, recommending that those looking to beat back the signs of age apply the same sunscreen to their hands as they use on their faces.

Second on Idriss’ list? An overnight hand facial.

I’m a doctor — don’t ignore this symptom that may mean a heart problem

“Apply an exfoliating mask to the back of your hands and even your fingertips,” she revealed. “Once it sets, get yourself a nice, thick cream, set it on top, and go to bed.”

She promises that with the sleep treatment, “your hands will look like they never saw a day of work in their life.”

The third and final tip for spring chicken paws? Retinol, also known as vitamin A.

“On days that you’re not exfoliating, apply a little bit of regional to the back of your hands to make sure that your skin regenerates itself as efficiently as your beautiful face.”

And if you manage to keep your mitts looking luxe, you could pay for that retinol and those fist facials with a second career as a hand model.

In the four years she’s been metacarpal modeling, Berrocal said she learned that brands prefer even skin complexions, slender fingers, nice nail beds and clear skin without tattoos or scars.

Berrocal uses Idriss’ overnight moisture technique, lathering her hands with shea butter. She also protects her paws by wearing gloves when washing the dishes.

Her advice to others mirrors that of Idriss, with an emphasis on staying moisturized: “If you wash your hands, make sure to put lotion on immediately after, because your hands are one of the first places that show aging,” she said.
