    Call it fowl play.

A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper faced an unexpectedly aggressive suspect who was attacking his cruiser — a 2-foot-tall, “deceptively fast” turkey.

The trooper called in the turkey attack over dispatch last Wednesday, laughing his way through a suspect description of the bird.

“I’m trying to negotiate. He is pecking at my tire,” the trooper said over the police radio as others listening in considered sending him back up.

He described the fowl as if he were pursuing an actual person, according to audio of the dispatch.

“We’re gonna be eastbound. Male, about 2 feet tall, short beard […] mostly brown with some red and white trim. Deceptively fast blasting northbound,” he said over dispatch as he chased after the wild bird in a foot chase.

The turkey — who the trooper said was remarkably stubborn as it assaulted his car and refused to budge even when he blared his sirens at it — is two feet shorter than the average male turkey , according to the officer’s description.

“Is he playing chicken with you?” one person on the receiving end of the dispatch joked.

The turkey was still in the wind following the foot chase, but citizens were notified to be on the lookout for “the suspect.”

The dispatch audio, which was reposted on the KFIZ YouTube , has reached nearly 9,000 views.
