    Colorado came with receipts.

A school spokesperson denied a recent report that Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders asked the school’s band to refrain from playing the university fight song so that his son, and Colorado quarterback, Shedeur Sanders’ song “Perfect Timing” could play instead.

“This is not true. Nobody ever asked the band to refrain from playing the fight song,” the school said in the statement, according to ESPN . “After a touchdown, the band plays ‘Glory, Glory Colorado,’ and after a point after touchdown, the band plays ‘Fight CU,’ as has been standard practice for years.

“When Shedeur Sanders scores, the band will wait a moment for a small snippet of Shedeur’s song to play before immediately kicking into ‘Glory, Glory Colorado.’

“This is exactly what happened during the game against North Dakota State,” the statement read, referring to Colorado’s season-opening 31-26 victory against the Bison.

Sanders isn’t the only player to get their own celebration music.

Colorado kicker Alejandro Mata’s song plays after a made field goal and before the band begins playing the fight song, the school added.

The coach called the report from Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan “idiotic” in a press conference Tuesday.

“Let’s start out with the main thing, whoever reported that I told the band not to play the fight song, that’s idiotic. Y’all know that,” Sanders told reporters as soon as he sat down. “Get the facts before you run with false narratives.”

The coach went on to call for accountability from reporters so that things don’t get personal.

“Oftentimes in life, we believe the first thing we hear in which we shouldn’t,” Sanders said. “I just would challenge you to be more responsible with your reporting. I never wanted to get personal.

“So when it gets personal, you got to really think about that. You’ve got to understand — I have a huge platform. I could really get personal if I wanted to, but I choose not to do that, because that’s not right. Some things in life are just not right. We were brought up to love thy neighbor as much as we can.”

It came after Nebraska played the quarterback’s song while celebrating their 28-10 win over Colorado on Sept. 7.

Sanders was sacked five times and threw a pick-six in the first quarter.

He finished 23-of-38 with 244 yards and one touchdown.

The Buffaloes will face Colorado State on the road Saturday.
