When the Knicks and Rangers are away, the heroes of this year’s U.S. Open will play.

On Wednesday, Dec. 4, the Garden Cup is bringing tennis to MSG for the first time since 2018- no word on whether or not there will be Honey Deuces on the premises.

The four players set to take center court at the one-off tennis exhibition are four-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz, US Open finalist Jessica Pegula and US Open semifinalists Ben Shelton and Emma Navarro.

“I am looking forward to returning to New York on December 4 to play Ben at Madison Square Garden,” said Alcaraz, who last played Shelton in 2023 and beat him in straight sets. “Playing in front of the New York fans at The World’s Most Famous Arena will be an unforgettable night. It will be a great experience.”

“As a New York tennis player you dream of playing in the US Open final and playing at Madison Square Garden,” Pegula added. “To be able to do both in one year just shows dreams can come true. Really looking forward to coming back to New York and playing Emma in front of the best fans in the world.”

Pegula and Navarro, who represented the U.S. at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, have only gone head to head once before. In that 2024 Miami Open round of 16 match, Pegula defeated Navarro 7-6, 6-3.
