The Packers are holding out hope.

Despite Jordan Love not being able to practice at all this week, the team is listing their starting quarterback as questionable to play in Green Bay’s Week 2 showdown against the Colts.

Love sprained his MCL last week in the team’s 34-29 season-opening loss to the Eagles , and while the Packers are appearing to give him a shot at playing this weekend, the knee ailment had been expected to be a multi-week injury .

“He’s doing good,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters on Friday. “He’s got a great attitude and is working hard and getting better every day.”

The quarterback, trying to lead a comeback drive on the final series of last Friday’s game in Brazil, was taken down hard on a lateral attempt, knocking him out of the game for the final few plays, with Malik Willis replacing him.

Love, who turns 26 in November, sat behind current Jets QB Aaron Rodgers for three seasons before finally getting a chance to start last season.

    He didn’t disappoint.

In 2023, Love threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 64.2 percent of his passes across 17 starts.

Love, on the strength of his 2023 production, signed a four-year, $220 million extension this offseason .

He threw for 260 yards, two touchdowns and one pick before the injury last week.

Willis, the team’s backup, will now start in Love’s place.

The No. 1 signal-caller was a third-round pick in 2022 by the Titans, where he started three games across two seasons.

He has accumulated 350 passing yards (at a 52.2 percent completion rate) with three interceptions and no touchdowns.

Willis has also rushed for one touchdown.

He was traded from the Titans to the Packers in August for a seventh-round pick.
