A child in a 1941 photo appears to be holding an iPad — and viewers are shocked.

The picture, taken by Farm Security Administration photographer Edwin Rosskam , captured a group of people of color patiently waiting in line to enter a movie theater on the South Side of Chicago.

While the photo may look inconspicuous at first glance, some wildly imaginative viewers have claimed the snapshot is proof of time travel due to one minor detail.

“Bottom line, the kids are adorable and proud to be who they are BUT how is the first kid in line holding an Apple iPad in 1941,” someone snarked on Reddit . “Time for the theme from ‘The Twilight Zone.'”

“Is that kid in line bringing in an iPad?” another also asked.

However, most viewers were quick to shut down this outlandish claim, insisting that the item could not be an electronic tablet because they were not yet invented and time travel has yet to be proven.

Instead, others suggested that the item the young boy was carrying was more likely a book, Bible, notebook or leather-bound diary.

Commenters additionally complimented the folks in the photo, many of whom were young children, for their impeccable outfits as they’re all adorned in their “Sunday best.”

“They all are dressed so nicely. To wear your Sunday best to see the movies, it must have been a fantastic treat,” someone wrote.

“Part of me wishes we would all dress up like that for the little things, and then I debate if I am even going to shower today,” another said.

“Look at them, they’re suited and booted looking mighty fine,” one more proclaimed.
