Inside Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma’s Italy wedding ceremony: photos

On Saturday, Sept. 28, comedian and actress Rebel Wilson, 44, tied the knot with her fiancée, Ramona Agruma, 40, in a destination wedding at the Hotel Cala di Volpe in Sardinia, Italy.

Wilson first announced their relationship in June 2022 when she posted a photo of the couple on Instagram with the caption, “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess 💗🌈💗 #loveislove.”

That announcement also marked the Australian actress coming out as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Agruma is the founder and owner of the athleisure brand Lemon Ve Limon.

Shortly after, the “Bridesmaids” star posted a photo of the couple holding hands in the seaside town of Porto Cervo, Italy, captioning the post, “Ciao Bellas.”

In their wedding photos, the brides both wore Pronovias gowns. Agruma’s had beaded detailing while Wilson’s was a simpler design. Agruma wore her hair in an elegant updo, while Wilson opted to wear hers down with a white floral clip.

Both women carried identical bouquets of white flowers.

The “Isn’t It Romantic” star, who underwent a weight loss journey in 2022, last dated Jacob Busch, but the pair split in early 2021. She was also previously linked to tennis player Matt Reid .

In December 2022, Wilson told the Hollywood Reporter that an onscreen kiss with her “The Almond and the Seahorse” co-star, Charlotte Gainsbourg, led her to Agruma.

“If I hadn’t had the experience with Charlotte, I don’t know if I would have ever met [Ramona],” she shared. “Having [that experience] opened my heart up to it as a possibility. It changed my love life completely.”

In May 2022, Wilson told People that she was set up with Agruma “through a friend” and revealed they spoke on the phone for “weeks” before meeting, but she didn’t reveal Agruma’s identity at the time.

“That was a really good way to get to know each other,” she said. “It was a bit old-school in that sense — very romantic.”

“It’s great to have someone who feels like an equal partner and be in a healthy relationship,” the “Bridesmaids” star added. “There were times — I’m not saying with all my exes, they’re great — but there were some times that I was probably putting up with that I shouldn’t have. So it feels different to be in a really healthy relationship.”

Wilson welcomed her daughter , Royce Lillian, via surrogate in November 2022.

Agruma appeared on Australia’s “The Morning Show” that month and said that having Royce was “a “life-changing” experience” for both of them.

“It’s like you start thinking about someone else instead of yourself, priorities change,” she said.

“When you think, ‘Aw, I wish I would go have a massage’ or something, instead you’re like, ‘No, I just want to spend time with her and be at home.'”

Their daughter, Royce, now 2, was part of their wedding celebration.

In February 2023, Wilson announced her engagement to Agruma . The couple got engaged on Valentine’s Day.

In the photos she posted, the two wore matching pink-and-white striped sweaters with black hearts on them as they posed together in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at Disneyland.

“We said YES! 💗💗,” Wilson wrote in the caption of the post. She also thanked jewelry company Tiffany & Co for their stunning diamond rings, and Bob Iger and his team at Disneyland.

In her April 2024 memoir, “ Rebel Rising ,” Wilson shared more details about the proposal.

“Ramona sees the pastel rose petals all over the ground and the roses in vases,” she wrote.

“I tell her how special she is to me. And then I get down on one knee and open the ring box. I end with, ‘So in this cliché way, on this cliché day, Ramona Agruma, will you marry me?’ ‘Yes,’ she says through the tears streaming down her face.”
