Everything kept getting worse in Jacksonville before the team’s first win.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence and wideout Gabe Davis got “into it” on the sidelines following a Jaguars drive with Lawrence reportedly throwing a tablet and Davis yelling at him, according to multiple reports citing the CBS broadcast .

The sideline report didn’t include video of the incident, but the heated exchange reportedly followed a sequence on third down where Lawrence threw an incomplete pass and seemingly missed Davis — open while running a different route — to end a Jacksonville drive with just over four minutes left in the opening quarter.

Doug Pederson denies he’s ‘lost the locker room’ as Jaguars’ struggles continue

It marked the latest low point in a rocky start to the 2024 season for the Jaguars, who, before a late-season collapse last year, had emerged as AFC contenders.

They started 0-4 this season entering Sunday’s game against the Colts, with Lawrence completing just 53 percent of his passes for just four touchdowns and one interception.

The Jaguars eventually won, 37-34, however to improve to 1-4.

The issues have stretched beyond their offense — Jacksonville’s defense was torched during a “Monday Night Football” blowout against the Bills in Week 3, allowing 34 points in the first half and 47 overall — with the season already spiraling out of control, though head coach Doug Pederson insisted Wednesday that he hasn’t lost the locker room .

Winners and losers of NFL Week 4: Travis Kelce responds; Jets and Giants sadness

“I would know,” Pederson told reporters. “I talk to these guys every day, I see them every day.”

But given Lawrence’s status as a former No. 1 overall pick and the recipient of a five-year, $275 million extension in June, the 25-year-old has been subject to increased pressure and scrutiny.

That continued Sunday, when he threw an interception.

But Lawrence also flashed the talent that made him one of the top signal-callers in the league when he connected with rookie wideout Brian Thomas Jr. on an 85-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Davis, who signed with the Jaguars in the offseason after four seasons with the Bills, caught both of his targets for 28 yards as the Jaguars built a 20-17 by the early minutes of the fourth quarter.

Through his first four games with the Jaguars, Davis generated 21 targets, catching nine of those for 121 yards.

Jacksonville will play its next two games in London, against the Bears and the Patriots, before hosting the Packers on Oct. 27.

Well glad they won. But Trevor did blow it on the pass play. He hit his tight end 5 yards down and needed 6 for a 1st down. He missed Davis about 10 yards down wide open that would have been a 1st down. Don’t blame Davis being pissed off
