The miraculous season of the Mets continues, and radio broadcaster Howie Rose once again brought the heat on Wednesday night as he narrated two of the biggest moments yet of the season.

The beloved Mets broadcaster uttered his famous catchphrase “put it in the books” after the final out was recorded in the Mets’ series-clinching 4-1 win over the Phillies to move on to the National League Championship Series.

“Swung on and missed, strike three! Put it in the books!” Rose exclaimed on the broadcast. “And to the New York Mets, California here we come! They have defeated the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-1. They take the National League Division Series in four games for the first time ever in their 16th year at Citi Field.”

Rose went on to describe the celebration with the players running to second base to mob Francisco Lindor, who hit the go-ahead grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning to put the Mets ahead.

The Rose call of Lindor’s blast was equally applauded on Wednesday night.

“Swing and drive toward the gap in right-center. It’s pretty deep. It’s back near the wall!” Rose said during the call. “It’s gone! It’s gone! Francisco Lindor, he may have just outdone himself. He has hit a grand slam into the Phillies bullpen in right-center field! The Mets are leading by a score of 4-1. They were famished for the big hit all night and Francisco Lindor just provided a feast!”

Rose has had a number of memorable calls during the course of his career calling Mets games, including during this playoff run when Pete Alonso hit a go-ahead homer in the NL Wild Card Series.

The Mets will now advance to face either the Padres or Dodgers in the NLCS.
