Apparently, Nick Sirianni was “just excited to get the win” when Fox cameras caught him seemingly chirping at fans behind the Eagles’ sideline in the final minute of their 20-16 home win over the Browns on Sunday.

The Eagles’ head coach could be seen pointing to his ear – making a motion that he couldn’t hear the person or persons – and walking toward the fans at Lincoln Financial Field while appearing to say something.

It became clearer that Sirianni was yelling something toward the fans before throwing his hands up in exasperation and storming the other way.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the fans he appeared to be yelling at were fans of the Eagles or the Browns, who dropped to 1-5 after the loss.

Sirianni added to the bizarre situation after the game when he alleged that what people saw was his happiness over the win.

“Just excited,” Sirianni told reporters when asked about it. “Just excited to get the win.”

When a reporter attempted to follow up and ask if fans had been saying things to him, Sirianni just repeated his previous answer.

“Just excited to get the win,” he said with a smile on his face.

In another response, Sirianni expressed appreciation for the fans, saying they had contributed to several false starts that helped the Eagles.

“Appreciate the [Lincoln Financial Field] support,” he said.

Sirianni has not been on the good side of Eagles fans, who have not been thrilled with the team’s start to the 2024 season or how the team ended last year.

The Eagles were coming off a bye week and had been blown out by the Buccaneers the week prior.

Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports reported that Sirianni had been hearing it from the fans earlier in the day when the team went into halftime tied at 10-10 with the one-win Browns and chants of “Fire Sirianni” broke out.
