It was an unfor- tuna -te incident.

A female flyer experienced the ultimate inflight faux pas after witnessing her seatmate brazenly devour a can of tuna in the air. She detailed the flying fish incident in a TikTok video with over 1.2 million views .

“Canned tuna on the plane gotta be up there in terms of crimes against humanity,” lamented the TikTokker, named Ally, in the caption to the fishy clip.

She was reportedly flying from Anchorage, Alaska to Seattle, Washington, when her neighbor opened a can of tuna 10 minutes into the flight, per a follow-up clip .

“I catch it out of the corner of my eye and I’m like ‘that better not be what I think it is,'” Ally lamented.

“This should be a CRIME,” declared one aghast viewer, while another suggested that the culprit be put on the “no-fly list, immediately.” @allyjaksen/TikTok

All the while, recordings of a man swearing are playing in the background, seemingly symbolizing Ally’s displeasure with her seatmate’s choice of an inflight snack.

The comment section seemed to empathize with the content creator’s plight.

“This should be a CRIME,” declared one aghast viewer, while another suggested that the culprit be put on the “no-fly list, immediately.”

“This is like heating up fish in the office break room,” wrote a third.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only inflight infraction committed by Ally’s neighbor, who the TikTokker billed as a textbook example of someone “you don’t want to sit next to on the plane.”

She explained that “tuna man” also ordered a bloody mary, compounding the smell of his odorous hors d’oeuvres, and even proceeded to pick a scab bloody in full view of her.

Ally’s not alone in her dislike of being in the presence of tuna at 30,000 feet.

In a recent survey of the most reviled inflight behaviors , 92% raised a stink about eating odiferous foods with tinned fish topping the list.

So while this portable seafood might be haute cuisine among Zoomers, it’s perhaps best to save the chicken of the sea for after you’re on the ground.
