A big reason the New York Rangers won the Presidents’ Trophy last season was because of their potent offense.

Consisting of multiple All-Star caliber players, the Rangers arguably have one of the best offensive units in the entire NHL.

Here’s what their line combinations could look like going into the 2024-25 campaign.

First Line: Chris Kreider-Mika Zibanejad-Reilly Smith

Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad have been a consistent and reliable duo for the Rangers over the past couple of seasons, but they are in desperate need of a winger who can complement the star forwards.

Both Kreider and Zibanejad are coming off 70-plus point seasons. It was clear in the playoffs though that in order to reach their full potential, adding a reliable forward to the mix was necessary.

That’s why the Rangers went out and traded for Reilly Smith. The veteran forward provides consistent goal scoring and Stanley Cup winning experience.

Smith should be the perfect fit alongside the likes of Kreider and Zibanejad.

Second Line: Artemi Panarin-Vincent Trocheck-Alexis Lafrenière

It would be a reasonable thing to say that Artemi Panarin, Vincent Trocheck and Alexis Lafrenière are the most reliable and explosive trio the Rangers have to offer.

Panarin is coming off of a monster 120-point season playing alongside these two forwards while Trocheck and Lafrenière were also impressive to say the least.

Panarin and Lafrenière are electric with the puck on their sticks as they feed off of each other perfectly.

Meanwhile, Trocheck is a player who plays hard and also has the offensive touch, making him one of the team’s most complete forwards.

They put up historical numbers last year and have the potential to do the same thing this year.

Third Line: Will Cuylle-Filip Chytil-Kaapo Kakko

This is a line that consists of three young players still trying to find themselves in the NHL.

In his first full season last year, Cuylle was impressive, showing flashes of his high potential.

When he is healthy, Chytil has been an impact player who makes a difference at both ends of the ice, but he has dealt with a number of concussions that have hindered his career thus far.

Kakko signed a one-year contract with the Rangers as the 2019 second overall pick is likely getting one more chance to prove he belongs in New York.

All of these players are young with a lot of raw potential, so it will be interesting to see how they will be if on the same line.

Fourth Line: Jimmy Vesey-Sam Carrick-Matt Rempe

The Rangers potential fourth line will draw a lot of attention, largely due to Matt Rempe.

While Rempe doesn't provide much of an offensive spark, his fighting and physical style of play has made him a celebrity in The Big Apple.

The Rangers just recently signed Sam Carrick. He is a reliable two-way forward who is an unselfish kind of player, perfect for the fourth line.

Finally, Jimmy Vesey always hustles on the ice and is never afraid to shy away from a big moment.
