Why Matt Rempe Isn't Playing Full-Time

1. Is Peter Laviolette saving Matt Rempe for the next outdoor game? If so, Lavvy is playing with fire. (That is The Matt Rempe Marching and Chowder Society.)

2. Not that Pistol Pete cares. It's obvious that he likes Jonny Brodzinski, Adam Edstrom and Sam Carrick better than Matt. (What's more, Carrick can handle his dukes as well as The Remper.

3. That nice fellow who wants to be the highest-paid goalie in captivity made 31 $ave$ against Detroit. KA-CHING!

4. Putting a dollar value on every Shesterkin save – and how he sees his value – that should have him demanding a minimum of $11 million. (Imagine how the figure will soar if he ever beats Florida.)

5. The referees were wonderful in the game against Detroit. Now lemme see if you can guess why? (Correct if you said, "Because the Rangers won.")

6. Victor Mancini impresses The Maven so much that I'd keep him as a starter even after Ryan Lindgren returns. (Scratch the captain if you have to scratch anyone.)

7. Before we start Cup-dreaming, let's not forget that our beloved Manhattan Marauders opening three games were against non-playoff teams. (The Red Wings haven't made the postseason since 2015-16.)

8. The Red Wings should be easy-pickin's tomorrow night at Little Caesar's Arena. Figure Lavvy to go with Jonathan – No Save Bonuses – Quick to shake the cobwebs. (Hockey Miracle: Wings GM Steve Yzerman is 0 for 5 missing the playoffs and still has his gig!)

9. Let's not forget that Chris Drury and Easy Igor Shesterkin's rep must be schmoozing every day to make The Poor Little Rich Man even richer. (My big question is who'll break the story once MSG makes it official. My money is on Kevin Weekes – again!)

10. The Maven places the Rangers odds for winning the coveted Presidents' Trophy at 8-1 for this season. (Don't forget the new theme, PRESIDENTS' TROPHY OR BUST!)

11. The biggest upset of the year would be if Jonny Brodzinski or Adam Edstrom beat out The Remper for that coveted last spot on the Fourth Line. (Should the unlikely happen, it would be done on merit alone; Ergo: Rempe ain't that good!)
