How the Giants should Handle their Two Biggest Free Agents
It now truly feels like the NFL offseason. The NFL news cycle is full of rumors regarding trades and free agents. Two of the NFL’s biggest storylines right now are in relation to two Giants: Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones. Rumors are flying about the amount of money each player wants and if the Giants have any interest in bringing them back. I don’t think these two contracts are all that confusing, so here is how the Giants should handle the Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley situations.
Finally – – the Rangers” “D” making it happen
Let’s face it, the remaining NHL season is a slog-fest with only certain teams moving on to the Stanley Cup playoffs and out of that bunch, only a few have any realistic chance of moving on to the Cup finals. Add the New York Rangers to that last bunch. I know, lost of naysayers wil wail and gnash their teeth that the Blueshirts are too streaky but the Rangers are streaky at this point of the season-for all of the right reasons.
The Eagles Losing the Super Bowl May Bring Good Fortune to the Giants if History Repeats Itself
Sometimes that’s a good thing, and sometimes it’s a bad thing. In this case, it’s hopefully a good thing for the New York Giants. The Eagles have now played in 3 Super Bowl’s, losing 2 of them. The last time the Eagles played in a Super Bowl and lost, was back in 2004. The 2004 Eagles were a force to be reckon with. Finishing with a 13-3 record, a top 10 offense and defense, and beat all their playoff opponents with ease. That is until they fell to a budding dynasty in the New England Patriots. Fast forward to 2022, and the Eagles were once again a force. They finished with a 14-3 record, a top 10 offense and defense, and beat all their playoff opponents with ease. Until they fell to who looks like could be the newest dynasty in the Kansas City Chiefs. The 2005 Eagles failed to live up to the lofty expectations they created for themselves, finishing 6-10. They were unable to win the NFC East for the 5th year in a row, allowing the New York Football Giants to take the crown with a 12-5 record. If history repeats itself, the Giants look to be in good shape.
RBNY’s Daniel Patrick Kit Tilts Heads
The New York Red Bulls won’t only be red in 2023. On Wednesday, the team officially revealed the (much leaked) secondary kit for the upcoming Major League Soccer season. In collaboration with sportswear designer Daniel Patrick the new apparel is already for sale on the league’s store and should be available at opening day next month.
The Giants are Getting their Coordinators Back, Now it’s Time to Lock Up their Quarterback
Good news came in the last week in multiple forms. The Eagles lost the Super Bowl in heartbreaking fashion, which helped ease the pain of the Giants playoff loss. More importantly, the Giants are getting Offensive Coordinator Mike Kafka and Defensive Coordinator Wink Martindale back for the 2023 season. Although I feel bad for Kafka and Martindale on a personal level, I am happy as a fan of the Giants. Now that both the offense and defense are getting their head honchos back, it’s time to make sure the Giants get their Quarterback back.
The Rangers have more trade questions than answers
Most NHL teams know or have a solid idea of which players are on the trading block as the March 3rd trade deadline rapidly approaches. This may not be the case for the New York Rangers. Recent success and the proverbial “stepping up” of potential trade candidates leaves GM Chris Drury with a lot more questions than answers right now. (The addition of Vladimir Tarasenko this week could be a huge game changer for the Rangers – stay tuned.)
The Popularity Of March Madness – It’s More Than You Think
Every March, it renews itself, and it’s not springtime. Instead, it’s the craziness of March Madness College Basketball. If you think it’s not a big deal, then you don’t understand the value of sports in America. Sports are one of the great pastimes in American culture...
Jalen Brunson: More Important Than An All-Star Selection Can Signify
Jalen Brunson was not named to the All-Star team, as Julius Randle is clearly the face of the Knicks right now. But Brunson is clearly the heart of the team, and he may be the franchise’s most important acquisition in over a decade. According to the latest NBA odds,...
No Giant Fan should be Upset about Julian Love’s Shot at Nick Sirriani
Super Bowl 57 is now less than a week away. The Philadelphia Eagles are taking on the Kansas City Chiefs. Though it hurts to admit, these are probably the 2 best teams from the NFC and AFC. With that being said, it is not hard to pick who to root for. I rooted as hard as I could for the Patriots 5 years ago and I’ll root as hard as I can for the Chiefs on Sunday. My hate for the Eagles is at an all-time high right now, so when Giants safety Julian Love shared his opinion on the Eagles and their Head Coach Nick Siranni, I loved every second of it.
Reinventing Jimmy Vesey
With age supposedly comes wisdom and for Jimmy Vesey, his second stint with the New York Rangers looks like he’s grown up. Don’t get me wrong and say that the first go-around with the Rangers showed a lack of maturity for Vesey but this second time with the organization is showing a different side of him – a really good side. No, Jimmy Vesey isn’t the second coming of Wayne Gretzky or Sidney Crosby or any other NHL great; Vesey is just himself and finally growing into the hockey player he was meant to be. Jimmy Vesey has become good at reinventing himself.
Amateurs Seek Open Cup Date with Red Bulls
The Major League Soccer preseason is upon us and the 2023 American Soccer calendar is also taking shape. While the New York Red Bulls’ continue to prepare in both Florida and California, a new challenger has appeared. In fact, there’s six of them. The U.S. Soccer Federation has announced the amateur teams that will compete in the 2023 U.S. Open Cup First Round between March 21 and 23.
The Rangers need the All-Star break
For all intents and purposes, the New York Rangers seem to be well on the road to the Stanley Cup playoffs and starting to solidify their lock on the third spot in the Metro Division. That being said, the Blueshirts certainly can use the upcoming All-Star break as a time to breathe again and try to get back fully on track with the rest of the season.
The Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll Press Conference is a Sign of an Offseason Full of Decisions
We are now a week removed from the Giants loss to the Eagles in the divisional round of the playoffs. The loss still stings, and I don’t know about you, but transitioning into offseason mode has been a struggle. What aided in that transition was the press conference held by the Giants GM, Joe Schoen and Head Coach, Brian Daboll. Through the questions they were asked and the answers they gave, it previewed what is going to be an offseason full of decisions the Giants will have to make.
The Mets 2023 Hall Of Fame Class: Models Of Inspiration
When the New York Mets announced earlier this month that a new class was set to be inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame, those chosen for induction made certain to let everyone know that this was a deeply emotional honor. Three of the new members of the Mets...
If You Were Daniel Jones, What Would You Do?
As Giants’ Head Coach, Brian Daboll, stated Saturday night, it was a “crash landing” finish to a surprisingly good season. Now the Giants turn their attention to a long list of “to-do(s)” as the offseason brings on the front office season. First order of business…Daniel Jones.

NHL Draft Rankings at Mid-Season
The NHL reached its mid-season point and with the annual All-Star game around the corner and the trade deadline looming just beyond the horizon, it’s time for the Rangers to start thinking about potential 2023 draft rankings. There is a plethora of top-tier talent avaiable this year and the excitement of the recent World Junior Championships gave us a glimpse of just how good some of these draft prospects are.
To Get Ready for Giants vs Eagles, Let’s Take a Look Back at their 2000 Divisional Round Matchup
The Giants are heading into enemy territory in Philadelphia tonight to take on the number 1 seed Eagles. The Giants and Eagles have one of, if not the biggest rivalry in all of football, and it gets magnified tonight for the Playoffs. To get ready for tonight’s show down, let’s take a look back at the Giants and Eagles meeting in the 2000 NFC Divisional Round.
Giants Offense Leads Team to Playoff Win!
In a game where the defense got off to a rocky start, the Giants offense answered the challenge and led the team to its first playoff win since winning Super Bowl XLVI with a final of 31-24. It was a near flawless performance by Daniel Jones going 24-35 for 301 yards, 2 touchdowns, a quarterback rating of 114.1 and 78 rushing yards. Who would have figured the Giants offense would score over 30 points and carry the defense?
Red Bulls Say Goodbye to Old Faces, Hello to 2023 Preseason
The New York Red Bulls’ 2023 preseason is here. Fans will not have long to wait before the Major League Soccer season starts next month. A chance to make a 14th consecutive postseason appearance and two additional in-season tournaments are all at stake. But that doesn’t mean the offseason has been easy.
