Mayor Eric Adams is coming to the defense of Governor Kathy Hochul, after her decision to indefinitely postpone congestion pricing.

"I'm with the governor. I'm not a fair weather friend. I am a friend. She has been a friend during this administration as we've gone through some very tough times. I'm here with the governor. We're going to work through this together," Adams said.

The mayor wouldn't get into his private conversations with Governor Hochul. However, it sounded like he wasn't a fan of the plan to charge drivers $15 to travel south of 60th Street.

"I was clear we had to get it right. We could not balance it on the backs of working class people," Adams said.

The mayor said he would work with Governor Hochul to find other solutions to help fund the MTA.
