Ryan Garcia: 'I'm headed to the UFC' after drug test suspension

Ryan Garcia is not taking his suspension from the New York State Athletic Commission well.

After news surfaced that Garcia has been suspended for one year after testing positive for banned substances following his April 20 fight against Devin Haney, the boxer went on an unhinged social media rant about his punishment.

Garcia (25-1, 1 NC) will pay a $10,000 fine and forfeit his $1.1 million purse to Golden Boy Promotions.

The 25-year-old Garcia claims his innocence and says he is retiring from the sport.

"I’m [angry face emoji]," Garcia wrote on X. "I really hope boxing good without me. I fought everyone and was willing to. They have turned [their] back on me. I’m innocent. I stand by that I don’t care what everyone says. Gun [to] my head I say I didn’t take PEDs .

“Boxing is DEAD DEAD [skull emoji]. Boxing messing with the wrong one."

During his rant, Garcia also claimed he was making the move to the UFC.

"I’m headed to the UFC," he wrote. "Dana I want my 50 gs. For real Dana White hit me up."

On Instagram, Garcia added, Hey look at this cry baby get what he wants. I never cheated. They banned me for a year, I HATE ALL YALL FAKE AHHH PEOPLE.

"Boxing sucks I’m goin to the ufc."

While the move would be exciting, and Dana would likely be open to the option, the New York State Athletic Commission's suspension would keep Garcia from entering the cage, the same as boxing.

Along with his suspension, fine, and forfeiture of his purse, Garcia's majority decision win has been overturned to a no contest.

The WBC super lightweight title was not at stake for the Haney vs. Garcia fight, because Garcia missed weight.
