For the last eight years, Kristen Reynolds has served as a driving force behind the success of Discover Long Island, the region’s destination marketing organization, which is charged with furthering Long Island’s thriving $6.6 billion visitor economy.

Reynolds’ strategic vision, leadership acumen and innovative approach have significantly elevated the region’s tourism industry and garnered national attention through social media, various awards and marketing campaigns. A former resident of Arizona, Reynolds is a seasoned destination leader with more than 25 years of experience in roles at the state tourism level, in tourism and economic development advocacy, and at corporate and luxury resorts.

Under Reynolds’ leadership, Discover Long Island and the region have achieved remarkable milestones. These include record-breaking tourist spending in 2022; project development plans for Long Island’s first-ever convention center; the development of Long Island’s first in-destination guide app; the launch of the award-winning lifestyle podcast Long Island Tea; and more. Reynolds’ ability to navigate challenges, foster collaborations and implement effective solutions has not only strengthened the organization but has also positively influenced the broader Long Island tourism and economic landscape.

Reynolds’ dedication extends beyond Discover Long Island. She serves on the board of directors for Destinations International, as the incoming president of the New York State Destination Marketing Organizations and as a board member of the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association. Frequently recognized for her efforts, she has been named to the LIBN Top 50 Women in Business Hall of Fame, among other accolades.
