N.Y. weather: Will we get another heat wave this summer?
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Islanders should expect at least one more bout of extreme heat this summer, according to AccuWeather senior meteorologist Tyler Roys. “This is the prime time for a heat wave to occur,” Roys said. “The average temperature expected, or the historical average that’s expected for a high for this time of year is 85 and that runs from just after July 4 all the way through into early August. So, the chance for 90 degrees — this is it.”
Even More Tornadoes Touch Down in New York State
As the National Weather Service continues to tally up the record number of tornadoes that struck the week of July 15, more storms are dropping even more twisters in parts of the state. This all comes in addition to the remnants of Hurricane Beryl spawning seven tornadoes across New York earlier in July.
