Hochul tells pro-congestion pricing groups suing her over pause of $15 toll to ‘get in line’
Gov. Kathy Hochul on Thursday told pro-congestion pricing groups challenging her indefinite pause of the first-in-the-nation tolling program to “get in line.” Hochul, through a spokesperson, dismissed the two new lawsuits filed Thursday in an attempt to re-start the plan that would charge drivers $15 to enter Manhattan south of 60th Street. “Get in line. New York State Bans Realistic School Shooter Drills
The New York State Board of Education approved new regulations on banning realistic school shooter drills. Under the new rules, the new rules require schools to notify staff and students about planned drills. Parents must also be notified a week in advance. School officials do not have to tell the parents exactly what day the drill will occur. According to News10, the use of actors and props designed to mimic real shooting situations will no longer be permitted.
77-year-old RV driver dies after being found trapped in remote area after storms pass through, sheriff says
PEORIA (WEEK/Gray News) - A 77-year-old RV driver from New York died after he was found stranded in Illinois after an extensive search conducted by authorities. According to Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins, John F. Dubaic died shortly after search crews found him in the brush close to the Spoon River near Elmore.
Potentially Deadly Veggies Sold In New York Stores
A voluntary recall has been expanded due to the potential health threat it poses in New York State. Wiers Farm Inc. of Willard, Ohio, is expanding its July 12, 2024, recall.
