The Ohio Department of Transportation District 5 invites the public to a meeting regarding a proposed project that will improve the safety of Pike Street in Licking County.

The meeting will be held Oct. 29 from 6-7:30 p.m., at the Etna Township Hall (81 Liberty Street).

ODOT is proposing the project to widen the roadway and improve safety and pedestrian access. Verdantas Consulting Engineers, LLC, serves as ODOT's consultant on the project.

The roadway reconstruction of Pike Street would take place from just east of Ohio 310 to Etna United Methodist Church. The work would include an improved roadway with a sidewalk and shared-use path along with drainage, lighting and crosswalks. Pedestrian facilities would also be installed as part of the project scope.

Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2026. For complete project details, visit ODOT's website: www.transportation.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/odot/projects/projects/119487 .

The public is asked to attend the meeting and provide feedback regarding the proposed project. Comments regarding the project may be submitted in person at the meeting, by comment submittal form on the website or by phone at 740-323-5111. Comments received by Nov. 19 will be included in the official project documentation, but all comments will be accepted at any time.

Individuals who require interpretation services or a reasonable accommodation to attend the meeting or provide comments are asked to contact ODOT at 740-323-5111 prior to Oct. 22. Public participation in this project is solicited without regard to race, color, sex, age, national origin or disability.

Questions or comments regarding the project may be directed to Benjamin Boyer, project manager, at 740-323-5111, or by email at benjamin.boyer@dot.ohio.gov .
