We found juicy bargains on burgers at Delaware restaurants up and down the state

Who doesn't want to save money?

Numerous restaurants throughout the state offer discounted burgers on certain nights. Not all are advertised. You have to know to know.

Takeout typically is not an option at most restaurants on Burger Nights. Almost all of these weekly specials are dine-in only.

Some restaurants, like the BBC Tavern and Grill in Greenville, have half-priced burgers on their happy hour menu from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Rehoboth Ale House Downtown on Wilmington Avenue in Rehoboth Beach has a $14 burger on its Monday through Friday happy hour menu from 4 to 6 p.m.

The Well Coffeehouse and Marketplace in Hockessin has $10 smash burgers daily.

If you're looking specifically for a burger restaurant, you certainly can't go wrong at Farmer & The Cow in downtown Wilmington, which was featured on Guy Fieri's Food Network program "Diners, Drive-ins & Dives," or 322 BBQ off Marsh Road, which has a different "burger of the week." Its most recent offering was the gut-busting, $9.99 Double Decker Brisket Mac Attack Burger with two beef patties, brisket and macaroni and cheese.

Gourmet burgers are red-hot at Restaurant 55 in Dover (definitely check out the specials board) and Burgers and Brews in Frederica, where you can sit outside at a picnic table and enjoy a "smash burger," two beef patties served on a brioche bun with housemade chips.

The annual Delaware Burger Battle is also a great place to view creative burger offerings from some of the state's restaurants, but tickets for the popular event held on Aug. 24 in Wilmington's Rockford Park quickly sold out.

Here's a day-by-day look at some burger specials at restaurants throughout the state. Did we miss one? Email ptalorico@delawareonline.com and we'll update the list.
