Jayden Spurlin Arrested For Road Rage Incident In Maryland
Jayden Spurlin, 24, was arrested in his Baltimore County home on Thursday night following an investigation into a reported incident earlier this week. According to a Maryland State Police spokesperson, on Wednesday, Aug. 28, a motorist reported that a driver in a black Audi pointed a gun at him during a road rage dispute in the southbound lanes of I-97 near Route 50 in Annapolis.

Wicomico County Jury Convicts Salisbury Man of Rape
SALISBURY, MD - A Wicomico County jury has convicted a Salisbury man of multiple charges including rape, sexual offense, and assault stemming from an incident last August. According to the Office of the State’s Attorney for Wicomico County, on August 23, 2023, JN Karl Felix, 24, asked a victim to help him drop his car off at a mechanic’s shop. Afterwards, prosecutors say Felix took the victim to a friend’s apartment to retrieve keys to another car. Authorities say Felix then began kissing and touching the victim without her consent, and the victim struggled against him and demanded he stop. Felix then overpowered and raped the victim, according to the State’s Attorney’s Office.
Ocean City homeowners confused, concerned as insurance carriers drop policies on older mobile homes
Resort area residents are struggling to find answers after learning that their insurance carriers are dropping policies on their manufactured homes. When Ocean City resident Jaime Strickland and her husband decided to sell their Montego Bay property earlier this summer, they were shocked to discover their buyer could not secure the homeowners insurance required by the mortgage company. After further investigation, she learned insurance companies are choosing not to offer, or to continue, policies on decades-old manufactured homes.
Ocean City to conduct hearing on request to close Bayview Lane downtown
The Ocean City Mayor and Council will hold a public hearing on the closure of Bayview Lane after hearing a request from Delmarva Power and Da Lazy Lizard this week. While an initial motion was made to deny the proposal in its entirety, the Mayor and Council on Tuesday ultimately agreed to schedule a public hearing on the closure and abandonment of Bayview Lane between 1st and 2nd streets. City Manager Terry McGean said staff had made the determination that the portion of Bayview Lane was not needed for public use.

Trey is a versatile football stud and only a junior at Cape. He is 6-foot-2, 265 pounds, and he can move. He lines up mostly at defensive end, but he can really play anywhere on both sides of the line of scrimmage. “Trey will be a handful for any opposing offensive line to handle,” said Cape football coach Mike Frederick. “He is strong, fast and physical.” As a junior, he is now providing depth in multiple positions on offense as well. Frederick elaborated, “Trey has huge upside at the next level. He flew under the radar defensively for Cape during the deep run last year. He typically matches up against the opponent’s best offensive linemen. Trey has had a really good preseason, and I expect teams throughout the state will need to game plan against him. Trey is a terrific student as well.”

BPW Approves Funding for Pocomoke Water Infrastructure Project and Worcester County Parks
Projects in Pocomoke and Worcester County have received funding approval from the Board of Public Works, including up to $777,000 for the improvements to the water transmission and distribution system in Pocomoke City and over $349,500 for community parks in Worcester County. Senator Mary Beth Carozza, who represents Pocomoke City and surrounding area says clean drinking water is a priority for public health and safety and that she is glad to see this funding has come through for Pocomoke to be used to improve the overall water quality for local residents. The funding for improvements to community parks include Dr. William Henry Park in Berlin and Cypress Park in Pocomoke.
