On Friday, the Adirondack Thunder announced that they will remain the ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils through the 2025-26 season.

The Thunder have partnered with the Devils since 2017-18, once the Calgary Flames parted ways with the franchise after relocating their affiliation to Stockton, CA.

Some notable players who have played with the Thunder include current NHL goalies like Mackenzie Blackwood, Logan Thompson, and Connor Ingram.

Since their affiliation started, the Thunder are 202-174-37-18 in six seasons, opting out of the 2021-22 campaign due to the pandemic.

The ECHL team won the North Division twice, in 2018 and 2024. They advanced to the third round of the playoffs each time but could not make it into the Kelly Cup Final.

Adirondack is currently coached by Pete MacArthur, who is entering his third season behind the bench, while Darian Skeoch serves as captain.

The Thunder's leading scorer in 2023-24 was Tristan Ashbrook, an unsigned, undrafted free agent who potted 32 goals and 58 points in 69 games.

The only players on last season's team with NHL affiliation include goalies Tyler Brennan (New Jersey), Isaac Poulter (New Jersey), and forward Alex Young (San Jose).
