On Wednesday morning, the NHL and Fanatics launched new jersey designs for the upcoming season, starting their 10-year partnership.

Ahead of the league's big weekend, which includes the NHL Awards show on Thursday night, followed by the Entry Draft on Friday and Saturday, the new jerseys are set to be first used by new prospects on the draft stage.

Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin said about the product: "I couldn't be prouder to unveil the first-ever Fanatics-branded NHL uniforms. These jerseys were meticulously crafted in lockstep with NHL players, the NHLPA, equipment managers, teams, and the NHL."

He continued, "Their feedback on what they were looking for in their next uniform completely drove our design, which was validated when we went back to all 32 teams during the past season to show the players, and the reaction was overwhelmingly positive."

Some new features include an additional layer of fabric to enhance durability and reduce wear from friction against the boards. The shoulder fabrics got redesigned, while the NHL shield now has a hologram finish, with the customary Fanatics branding on the back of the neck.

Most of the league's All-Star players, like Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, and Connor Bedard, were involved in the design process. Meanwhile, Jack and Luke Hughes checked out the new jerseys and were quite pleased with the product.

Jack said, "Fanatics made a really good-looking jersey. It feels great, the Devils crest looks amazing, and I look forward to wearing it on the ice next season.

His brother Luke, a Calder Trophy finalist, said, "The material of the Fanatics on-ice jerseys feels really comfortable, and the new design makes them look clean, too."

The Devils will debut the new Fanatics practice jerseys during prospect camps and, eventually, the main camp. The iconic red and black designs will make their preseason debut on Sept. 22 against the New York Islanders.
