NEWARK, N.J. -- It is a reunion for the New Jersey Devils and 31-year-old Stefan Noesen.

On Monday afternoon, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman announced that Noesen signed a three-year contract worth $8,250,000, with an annual average value of $2,750,000. This is his second stint with New Jersey.

The Plano, Texas native claimed off waivers by New Jersey from Anaheim on Jan. 5, 2017. He appeared in 145 games for the Devils over three seasons from 2016-17 to 2018-19, scoring 22 goals and collecting 43 points. He will rejoin former teammates Nathan Bastian, Jesper Bratt , and Nico Hischier.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound winger adds additional grit to the team's bottom-six forward group. In 2023-24, he was creditedwith 118 hits, third-most on the Carolina Hurricanes.

Noesen has spent the past three seasons in the Hurricanes organization and won the Calder Cup with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2022.

The winger has previously played for the Anaheim Ducks, Devils, Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Hurricanes. He has appeared in 366 NHL games and has 127 points (58 goals, 69 assists).
